The type of bed frame and mattress one likes or does not like is a very subjective thing. Some people prefer the bouncier feel of a box spring while others prefer a wood slat or even a platform bed frame. If you opt for the wood slat type, make sure the slats a sturdy and they they stay in place well. I have been on few beds where some of the slats are loose, and the result is a noisy bed frame.
