A good Marine costume should include a jacket, pants, a belt and a hat. Note that some costume sellers will sometimes sell Navy outfits as Marine uniforms and vice-versa. There are certain things to look for: the pants should have a red stripe down the side, the jacket should be single-breasted, the hat and belt should be white. Of course, some of the more adult-oriented costumes take several liberties when it comes to design.
