When looking to refinish or gild a picture frame, bed post, antique chair, or other furniture piece, you may want to use a combination of gold leaf and copper flakes to do the job. The gold leaf would be your primary material to use, while copper flakes, which usually come in random sizes, can be used to add a textured surface if needed. This practice however usually calls for a more experienced gilder who knows how to add just the right amount of copper flakes to a piece.
