Gardening can be a relaxing activity in many ways, but it can also be hard work. Bags of dirt, fertilizer, clay pots, rocks are all very heavy, and that can be hard on your back. A rolling cart can make moving these things much easier. Make sure whatever cart you get has sturdy wheels that are wide enough to roll properly on not just grass but also on bare soil.

Half circle tree bench
Sitting under a tree while enjoying the shade and a good book is one of the great joys of summer. But not all of us like to sit on the grass, maybe because we are not comfortable in that position, or because the ground is sometimes wet. A bench that wraps around a tree is a great compromise. It is comfortable, decorative, and, with the right person, even a little romantic.

Folding wood rocking chair
Rocking on the porch in the summer is my idea of a great time. Throw in a cold beverage, and it’s perfection. Although most outdoor rocking chairs are made of aluminum nowadays, if you want that authentic rocking experience, wood is the right material. If the chair is collapsible, all the better, as it can be put away during the winter months, or when it is raining if your deck or porch isn’t covered.

Of course the fact that a chair is made of wood will make it heavier than one made of plastic or aluminum.
