10-Gallon plastic trash can

Unless you are looking for something decorative, choosing a trash can is really only about two things: sturdiness and capacity. Plastic garbage cans have an advantage over metal: they will not dent like metal cans will. Metal cans on the other hand may look nicer. If you will be putting food and liquids in the can, you may want to get some liners. Otherwise, the can should stay clean if it is only used for papers and such.

Weighted tape dispenser

This has happened to a lot of us: as you wrap something, you need to hold down the wrapping paper with one hand and get some tape with the other. The problem is that with those small plastic tape dispensers, this is next to impossible. The job is made much easier with a weighted tape dispenser, which only requires one hand to use. Some even hold two types of tape: the regular narrow kind, and wide packing tape.

Desktop stand for two monitors

Some monitor models may be adjustable when it comes to tilting them, but as far as I know, none are adjustable when it comes to height. If, like me, you find that monitors are made much too low, and that you end up being uncomfortable after looking down for hours on end, you could get yourself a desktop riser. Some models are made very wide so that they can accommodate two monitors or one very large one, or even a flat screen TV, for that matter.
