Stainless-steel countertop microwave oven

Stainless steel appliances are my favorite for two reasons. First, they look great. The silvery finish reflects the colors that are around it, so it always fits in with in color scheme you may have in your kitchen. And second, they are easy to keep clean. If streaks are a problem, there are cloths designed to prevent this problem. Many top brands offer microwave ovens in metal finishes, whether it be under-the-counter models, or the type that sits on a counter.

Bamboo expandable cutlery tray

As far as I know there is no universal standard width for kitchen drawers, or for cutlery trays either. So if you want a tray that will fit the width of a drawer perfectly, you will either have to get lucky and find one that is the right size, you could have one made to measure, or you could can get an expandable tray. The advantage of the latter is that you can eventually use it in another drawer, should the need arise.

Free-standing broom closet

In some kitchens, broom closets are already built into the cabinetry. If this is not the case for you, then you may want to get a stand-alone narrow closet in which you can store your broom and mops. Of course, you don’t have to use this type of unit on the kitchen. They can be equally useful in a basement or garage, not only for brooms, but for rakes and other gardening tools, or anything else that is long and narrow, and that you want stored away.
